We are once again partnering with Interfaith Social Services, 105 Adams Street, to help our neighbors in need!
This year our 5th annual bike-powered food drive will be an independent affair and celebrated via social media. Because of COVID, rather than gathering and shopping together on one day, we encourage you to ride and shop on the day that is convenient for you to purchase the items you would like to donate. Snap a photo of your loaded bike and share it with us for a chance to win a set of lights (courtesy of TPAL and our education series) or a new helmet (courtesy of the law firm of Breakstone White and Gluck) or a Quincycles T-Shirt.
Lots of people are shopping differently this year so we are adapting our giving-by-bike strategy. Here’s a breakdown of how you can help our neighbors in need this year:
- If you are shopping in a store: ride your bike and shop for items needed at Interfaith Social Services. Take a photo of your loaded bike to share with Quincycles and ride your donation to Interfaith, 105 Adams Street, during the hours listed here.
- If you get your groceries delivered: add donation items to your list and then load your bike after they are delivered, take a photo of your loaded bike to share with Quincycles and then bike your donation to Interfaith, 105 Adams Street, during the hours listed here.
- If you can’t deliver your donations to Interfaith Social Services during the hours listed (M-F) then drop off your donation at 25 Cliff Street by Sunday, November 22. (Please do not drop off before 5pm.) We will get your donation to the food pantry for you.
- If you would prefer to make a financial donation, please consider basing your amount on the number of miles you ride this month, or that you rode this year, or that you would have ridden this year if you were still bike commuting. Or just bike your check over to Interfaith.
Chance to win prizes!
People who share a photo of their donation loaded bike will be entered for a chance to win one of the prizes listed above. Share via email, our Facebook page, or on Twitter @QuincyclesMA.
