Quincycles and Save the Harbor Save the Bay invite you to join us for our Beaches Ride on Saturday, July 16 — join us early for the longer ride or join us later for the last portion of the ride for a shorter route. Whichever route you choose, the first 60 riders to register will receive a t-shirt, and are welcome to join us after the ride for a luncheon at Nickerson Post in Squantum. T-shirts and lunch are offered with support from Save the Harbor/Save the Bay.
This ride is open to all – you do not have to be a Quincycles member to participate. Spread the word to your family and friends!
Please reserve only one ticket per person at that person’s chosen start location.
LONGER RIDE (First Group): 18 Miles / 12 Beaches Ride Option (7:30am)

Sign-in starts at 7:30am. Ride begins at 8:00am
Cycle with us along Quincy’s coastline and enjoy the views of 12 beaches – approximately 18 miles. We will ride the Quincy shoreline via Quincy Point, Adams Shore, Germantown, Houghs Neck and Merrymount communities and then along Wollaston Beach. It is our goal to maintain a pace of 12mph and minimize stops during this ride. We will take a break at the Kennedy Center and meet up with the Shorter Ride group at 9:30 before continuing around the coast of Squantum as described below. If you reserve a spot for this ride you do not need to reserve your spot in the shorter ride.
SHORTER RIDE (Second Group): Squantum and Marina Bay Ride Option: 7 Miles / 3 Beaches (9:30am)
Meet at the Kennedy Center, 440 East Squantum Street, Quincy at 9:30am
Free T-shirts will be distributed here – we will take a group photo at one of the final 3 beaches
This portion of the ride is for those cyclists who want to enjoy Quincy’s coast but not quite all of it. Approximately 7 miles. Cyclists will join the group from the longer ride for a tour around Neponset Landing, Squantum Point Park, Marina Bay, Orchard Beach, ending at Nickerson Beach/Post.
**As this is a point to point ride, we will offer a guided ride back to the Hancock Adams Commons (approximately 5 miles), after lunch at Nickerson Post. Total miles for both ride options plus return to start is 30 miles.
For both ride options:
Ride takes place on open roads, with traffic. You should also be prepared for mixed terrain, i.e. Ashphalt, sandy, and gravel roadways.
Youths up to age 17 are welcome to participate provided they are registered and ride with a parent or guardian, adhering to these guidelines:
Ages 1-12 must ride with an adult on a tandem bike, in a child’s seat on a tagalong bike, or in a bike trailer.
Ages 13-17 may ride their own bikes, but must remain in close proximity to the adult with whom they were registered.
