The Beaches of Quincy Ride

COVID-19 NOTICE: This ride is part of our intended 2020 schedule. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and state mandates, this ride will not be held if social distancing and limited gathering size requirements remain in place. Please check this page again to confirm the ride will be held. Please ride responsibly during the public health crisis. If you choose to ride on your own, please follow these safety guidelines: 1)      Ride alone or with people you already live with and adhere to social distancing guidelines. 2)      Bring all the snacks and water you will need to minimize stops at stores and interactions with others. 3)      Ride with caution since our medical community is already overburdened. 4)      Plan your ride to minimize stops and have a backup plan should you need assistance. 5)      Do not ride if you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19.   Quincycles rides are open to members and non-members. Ride to Shamrock Splash for Save the Harbor/Save the Bay

Quincycles has a team for The Save the Harbor/Save the Bay annual Shamrock Splash. The Shamrock Splash will be held on Sunday March 8th, at the BCYF Curley Community Center at M street in South Boston. Registration will begin at 10:00 am. The Splash will be at 11:00. There is an after splash party until 1:00. The Shamrock Splash is a Fund Raiser to support Save the Harbor/Save the Bay’s Better Beaches Program. This program has supported the Quincycles Beaches of Quincy Ride. Please go to http://shamrocksplash.org/quincycles to either register as a Quincycles Team member and/or to make a donation. Our team goal is to raise $500.00. Join us to ride to the Shamrock Splash A group of us will meet on Sunday, March 8th at 9:30 am at Panera in North Quincy and ride together to the Curley Community Center. Tim Lanham will be leading the ride.Please come join us for and early season ride. Splashing is optional! Quincycles rides are open to members and non-members. Second Saturday Ride: Beaches of Quincy

WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 7:15am (or 9:30am for a shorter ride) WHERE: Anderson Bicycle, 380 Washington Street, Quincy (shorter ride joins at the Kennedy Center, 440 East Squantum Street) WHAT: Cycle with us along Quincy’s coastline — approximately 22 of Quincy’s 27 mile coast with water views from 13 beaches. For the second year we will be hosting a longer ride starting at Anderson Bicycle and riders who would prefer a shorter ride can join us later at the Kennedy Center. Followed by a luncheon at Gaveston’s Deli at Marina Bay with support from Save the Harbor/Save the Bay. LONG RIDE DETAILS: WHEN: June 10, 7:15am WHERE: Anderson Bicycle, 380 Washington Street, Quincy LONG ROUTE (approximately 23 miles): This longer more strenuous ride will start at 7:15 am and meet at Anderson Bicycle, 380 Washington Street, Quincy. We will ride the Quincy Shoreline via Quincy Point, Adams Shore Germantown, Houghs Neck and Merrymount Communities and then along Wollaston Beach. It is our goal to maintain a pace of 12mph and minimize stops during this ride. We will meet up with the Short Ride group at 9:30 and continue around the coast of Squantum as described below. ______________________________________________________________________   SHORT RIDE DETAILS WHEN: June 10, 9:30am WHERE: The Kennedy Center, 440 E Squantum St, Quincy, MA 02171 (please park in the Hummock lot across the street) SHORT ROUTE (approximately 8 miles): This will be a more relaxed ride around the coast of Squantum to Squantum Post then back via Marina Bay to Commander Shea and a bike path around the Moorings and back to Squantum Point Park.
