Neponset Trail Ride

The Harvest Bridge has been open to the public 4 years this month!  Joe Hern will be leading us on a ride from Quincy Center through Milton to Mattapan Square, then along the Neponset Greenway Trail.  We’ll cross back into Quincy via the Neponset Bridge and take Hancock Street back to Quincy Center. The route is approximately 13 miles. We ride at a social pace and all our rides are no-drop. Destination Ride: East Bay Trail

COVID-19 NOTICE: This ride is part of our intended 2020 schedule. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and state mandates, this ride will not be held if social distancing and limited gathering size requirements remain in place. Please check this page again to confirm the ride will be held. Please ride responsibly during the public health crisis. If you choose to ride on your own, please follow these safety guidelines: 1)      Ride alone or with people you already live with and adhere to social distancing guidelines. 2)      Bring all the snacks and water you will need to minimize stops at stores and interactions with others. 3)      Ride with caution since our medical community is already overburdened. 4)      Plan your ride to minimize stops and have a backup plan should you need assistance. 5)      Do not ride if you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19.   Meet at Riverside Trailhead, East Providence, RI A 90 minute (one way), leisurely ride all on the bike trail that goes along the East River waterfront and through several quaint towns in Rhode Island.  We will stop for coffee in Bristol and then return to the trail head parking lot. Please bring a spare tube and read our Ride Guidelines before you come.   Directions: Take I-95 south to Providence Rhode Island. In Providence take Route I-195 East. Take exit 4 (Riverside) to Veteran’s Parkway. The parking area (the large parking lot at the top of the hill) is approximately 1/4 mile on your right.   Quincycles rides are open to members and non-members. Saturday May 4, 8:30 am Meet at South Dennis Trailhead Parking, South Dennis, MA  Our popular Destination Ride Series begins with the Cape Cod Rail Trail this year, a path that roams through forests, fields, marshes, and cranberry bogs all the way to Wellfleet. Please bring a spare tube and read our Ride Guidelines before you come. DIRECTIONS: The CCRT starts at the S. Dennis trailhead parking area, conveniently located just minutes from Route 6 on Route 134. Get off at Exit 9A and head south on Route 134 past Patriots Square plaza and Cumberland Farms. About 1/2 mile down from the exit you’ll see a sign and parking lot on the left – turn here for the trail entrance Quincycles rides are open to members and non-members. Neponset River Trail – 2 Ride Choices Saturday, April 13 Longer Ride, 7:30 am. Meet at City Hall, Quincy Center (parking is usually available at 34 Coddington Street if you need it) Shorter Ride, 8:15 am. Meet at Neponset River Reservation on Granite Ave at Hilltop St., Dorchester   Join us for our inaugural ride this season.  If you are a cyclist comfortable on our roads and want to ride a longer route, meet us at City Hall.  For those of you who are just stretching your cycling legs, meet us at the Neponset River Reservation on Granite Ave at Hilltop Street and we will show you the beautiful Neponset Greenway and the Harvest Bridge.
